Everything announced at Nintendo Direct September 2026

Following on from the Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Nintendo Direct, which gave us a look at the Ocarina of Time remake, Nintendo has now revealed even more games coming to the Switch 2 this winter.

The Nintendo Direct aired on September 9, 2026, showing off everything from Metroid Ravenous to a new Switch Sports Resort and the first fully open-world Kirby title.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Back in June, Capcom confirmed Monster Hunter Wilds was coming to Switch 2, months after the game had already settled onto PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Well, today's Direct finally broke the months-long silence. Monster Hunter Wilds comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026, while the Ascendance expansion gets its own 2027 window.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation & Crisis Core

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, the 2022 remaster of a 2007 PSP prequel, quietly lands on Switch 2's eShop later today. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the trilogy's closing chapter, will release on April 8, 2027.

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity

Age of Calamity has always been the odd one out when it comes to Switch ports, but it's the game fans remember fondly despite a rockier framerate than its sister titles. Today's appearance on the Nintendo Direct finally gives it the same Definitive treatment, and a new harder difficulty called Calamity Mode debuts alongside it.

Available February 25, 2027, on Nintendo Switch 2.

Star Fox

Star Fox Adventures joins the console's GameCube Classics library later today, while Star Fox 64 remake will be getting a free update landing September 29. It adds a local four-player battle mode with three new maps, plus four-player team play online.

The Witcher 3 Remastered and DLC

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered folds in Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, reworks combat, adds mouse and gyro controls, and it arrives free for Switch owners on September 29. Meanwhile, Songs of the Past, the first new DLC story content in a decade, will be available sometime in 2027.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance skipped the original Switch entirely for six years before Saber Interactive finally shipped a Royal Edition bundling every DLC in 2024.

History just repeated itself faster, as Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 launched on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC back in February 2025, explicitly ruling out any Switch version at the time, and today's Direct quietly reverses that. Switch 2 owners should get the full Bohemia experience rather than a stripped-down starter pack.

Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave

Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave has already had its moment in the spotlight, first teased a year ago, then given its own 20-minute dedicated Direct in August that dug into four protagonists competing in something called the Heroic Games.

Available September 17, 2026, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam has been in limbo since 2023, but it will now be available December 10, 2026, on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The puzzles come from QuizKnock this time, with Level-5 promising more of them than any Layton game before it.

Yo-Kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain

Yo-kai Watch 2: Haunted Domain is a remake of the 2014 original, rebuilt with a cleaner look and the same trick of turning an ordinary neighborhood into a haunted one the moment you know where to look.

It's confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 with no release date attached yet.

Pikmin 4

Pikmin 4 Switch 2 Edition adds voice commands and, more importantly, lets you actually praise your alien doggo. The bigger addition is Dandori Academy, a new mode that turns those chaotic treasure-collecting battles into a weekly exam schedule.

Owners of the original need the separate upgrade pack, and it's available November 12, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2.

Onyx: The Dark Grip

Bloober Team first mentioned Project M back in February 2023. They described it then as something that could only exist on Nintendo hardware, pitched squarely at fans of Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Eternal Darkness. Then came years of near silence, broken only by a trademark filing for Onyx: The Dark Grip that leaked out in January and a cryptic countdown site daring people to peek into the darkness.

Today's Nintendo Direct finally puts a name to years of speculation, though it still offers nothing beyond a logo and a year. It will be available in 2027, on Nintendo Switch 2.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

Nintendo already announced Xenoblade 3 Switch 2 edition in June as part of a trio of Switch 2 upgrades, but today's segment finally puts a name to the new recruit teased back then: Shimmer.

The upgrade also brings 4K docked resolution, a 60fps target, fully voiced cutscenes, and a horde-style defense mode called Heroes' Vault.

Available December 3, 2026, on Nintendo Switch 2.

Stage Fright

Ghost Town Games spent years making Overcooked into shorthand for screaming at your best friend over onions, and Stage Fright is their attempt at translating that chaos into something moodier.

Pitched as Luigi's Mansion crossed with Overcooked, the Switch 2 version will be available in 2027.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Keepsake at Sea

Gameloft already gave Disney Dreamlight Valley fans a first look at Keepsake at Sea back in August. It follows the Winnie the Pooh-themed Honeyglow Woods pack released earlier this year, and it finally lets players dive beneath the valley's waters instead of just fishing in them.

Available November 2026, on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight already had its moment back in May, when TT Games' first major release since the grueling five-year crunch of Skywalker Saga launched on PS5, Xbox, and PC to strong reviews.

The Switch 2 date, September 18, has actually been public for a while too, so today's Direct is mostly a pre-order nudge.

Cairn

Cairn spent four years in development before landing on PS5 and PC this January. The Game Bakers call it the conclusion of their trilogy on freedom, following Furi and Haven.

A demo lands this afternoon, and the full climb arrives early next year. Demo available today, full game early 2027, on Nintendo Switch 2.

Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4

Capcom already had a foothold on Switch 2 thanks to Resident Evil Requiem's February launch and the Village and 7 Gold Edition bundle already on the eShop, but today's Direct filled out the back catalog with the trilogy people actually wanted.

The reveal confirmed Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4 are all headed to the console, RE2 as its Deluxe Edition and RE4 as its Gold Edition, with RE3 arriving in its standard form. Digital copies land October 16, 2026, though nothing's been said yet about a physical release or whether the original Switch gets a look in.

Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis

Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog first unveiled Legacy of Atlantis at The Game Awards this past December and pitched it as a ground-up reimagining of the original 1996 Tomb Raider, complete with Unreal Engine 5 visuals and Alix Wilton Regan taking over as Lara Croft.

Today's Direct folded Switch 2 into that lineup, with Amazon Game Studios promising the same cinematic scale and combat, exploration, and puzzle-solving optimized for the console's hybrid setup.

It arrives February 12, 2027, day and date with the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC versions already announced, and pre-orders opened today.

Sports Resort

Today's Direct showcased an open-world Switch Sports Resort game, giving fans a look at the new Island Crown mode that ranks players across every sport, from boxing and volleyball to golf and thumb wrestling.

Characters are also more expressive, with customizable avatars replacing the old Mii designs. It ships October 22, 2026, only on Switch 2, with reservations already open.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

SNK's fighting game already landed on PS5, Xbox, and PC back in April 2025, and today's Direct just filled in the Switch gap.

The Switch and Switch 2 versions are now confirmed. Digital arrives October 22, 2026, with a physical release following in January 2027.

Metal Slug Ultimate Collection

SNK teased a Metal Slug celebration back in April for the series' 30th anniversary, and today's Direct put a name to it: Ultimate Collection, bundling the run-and-gun classics for Switch and Switch 2.

It's due sometime in 2027.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Force GX

Yu-Gi-Oh's Tag Force spinoffs never left PSP back in the 2000s, so seeing GX show up on Nintendo hardware at all is the surprise here. Konami's bringing the card-battling RPG to Switch and Switch 2 with its original visuals intact.

Metroid Ravenous

Nintendo has officially announced Metroid Ravenous for Switch 2, Samus Aran’s first side-scrolling adventure since 2021’s acclaimed Metroid Dread.

The new Metroid game divides Samus' time between her side-scrolling roots and the action-adventure-oriented Prime offshoot, which received its long-awaited fourth entry in 2025.

Metroid Ravenous releases January 28, 2027, for Nintendo Switch 2.

Mega Man: Dual Override

Capcom pulled Mega Man out of mothballs at The Game Awards back in December, framing Dual Override as a new 2D platformer built for the franchise's 40th anniversary, and by the time Gamescom rolled around in August, we'd already seen it in motion.

It's slated for a spring 2027 release on Switch 2.

Eternal Anima

Eternal Anima is a full isometric fantasy RPG that releases March 4, 2027, on Switch 2.

Danganronpa 2x2

Spike Chunsoft first teased this one over a year ago as a double feature: a remastered Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair paired with a brand-new scenario. It reuses the same cast and island, but rewires the murders entirely, with different victims, a different killer, and the same length as the original.

It's out January 14, 2027, on Switch and Switch 2, alongside PS5, Xbox, and PC.

Ondeh Ondeh Kaya's Tasty Tale

Ondeh Ondeh: Kaya's Tasty Tale, is a Malaysian-made action-adventure steeped in Southeast Asian folklore and food culture.

Bandai Namco has it slated for 2027 on Switch 2, alongside PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, though no exact date yet.

Romancing Saga 3

This one turns out to be exactly what SaGa fans have wanted since Romancing SaGa 2 got remade in 2024: a full rebuild of the 1995 original.

Destinies United keeps the Free Scenario System intact, letting you pick from eight protagonists and tackle its quests in any order, now wrapped in 3D visuals, full voice acting, and combat rebuilt around formations and United Attacks.

It launches February 16, 2027, on Switch, Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Persona 4 Revival and Persona 6

Atlus revealed this remake back at the Xbox Games Showcase in 2025, tying it to Persona's 30th anniversary, and had already locked PS5, Xbox, and PC in for February 2027. We also got another teaser for Persona 6, but it was just the game logo.

Kirby and the World Beyond

Nintendo has revealed Kirby and the World Beyond, a massive-looking Switch 2 adventure that seemingly gives the pink puffball his own Breath of the Wild-style open-world reinvention.
